Councilmember Jason Scott

Jason Scott was elected to the Corona City Council in 2008 and served as Mayor in 2012 and re-elected as Mayor on December 2, 2015.  He currently serves on the Infrastructure and Finance, Legislation & Economic Development Committees and represents the City at the Northwest Transportation NOW Committee. Prior to being elected to the Council, he spent six years on the City's Planning Commission.

´╗┐Mr. Scott moved to Corona in 1968 and graduated from Corona Senior High School a few years later. He has a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, a California Life Teaching Credential, and a California Administrative Credential.  He and his wife Dee have two daughters, Sharlynn and Cherise, and three grandchildren.
Mr. Scott has worked for the Corona-Norco Unified School District for over 35 years and as a school administrator for the last 25.  He is currently Principal of Highland Elementary School.
Mr. Scott is extremely active in a number of community organizations and serves as a board member of the Friends of the Corona Public Library.  He has previously served as President of the Friends of the Library for three years and on the Boards of the United Way, UNITY, and Corona Fire Safety Foundation.  He is a member of the Corona-Riverside Navy League, Corona Elks, Corona-Norco Management Association and the Corona Historic Preservation Society.
